Answer: While it may temporarily fix the appearance, applying anything over damp/rotting wood will not prevent further rotting. It is recommended to either cut out the rotten piece and replace it, or ensure the rot is dry before applying a thin rot fix epoxy, allowing it to dry and then applying a filler. -

Its lap shear tensile strength is up to 900 psi on steel and 500 psi on fiberglass, with a compressive strength of 8,000 psi. It can even be used on potable water pipes and tanks. This product is easy to use and can even be used to fill in old screw and pop rivet holes, as well as fill large cracks in distorted corners. It dries to aluminum color and can be easily sanded. However, the solution may not hold bond to concrete, and plumbers putty is recommended over this product for sealing toilet tank gaskets due to its stiffness.
