The arc arm cannot be lowered but the angle of the shade is adjustable both horizontally and vertically, allowing you to direct the light angle precisely for various tasks. The lamp can be turned on/off with a light switch or use the foot dimmer to set the light level. The shade is a stiff fabric and the electric cord is 70.87in long. The lamp is easy to assemble and very stable. The dim control is awesome and the brightness is good. The only downside is that the lamp doesn’t accept smart bulbs. Some customers had issues with the foot pedal switch, stating that it is not easily accessible. However, this lamp is well worth the price and customers were pleased with the customer service provided by Amazon.
