Linksys KVM Switches Editorial Review

The Cisco-Linksys SVIEW04 ProConnnect 4-station CPU KVM Switch has received favorable feedback from users, particularly for its functionality in streamlining setups cluttered with multiple displays and peripherals. Users report that switching between different devices is seamless, with excellent emulation of mouse and keyboard, which is crucial for productivity, especially among programmers who depend on complex keyboard shortcuts. One user, who transitioned from an older Linksys KVM, expressed satisfaction with the performance of the SVIEW04, especially in terms of keyboard and mouse interaction across different operating systems, including Windows, Mac, and Linux. The incorporation of dip switches for customizing keyboard shortcuts has also been appreciated, allowing for a more tailored experience. However, there are some noted drawbacks, primarily concerning video quality. Users have reported a noticeable ghosting effect that detracts from the clarity of images, particularly at higher resolutions like 1600x1200. While some users have not experienced this issue, the reports indicate that it may be more visible when connecting to high-performance systems. Overall, the SVIEW04 is praised for its reliable performance, easy management of multiple devices, and professional design, despite some concerns about video quality. It becomes evident that while the device excels in many aspects, potential buyers should Consider the trade-off with video clarity. **
