The Vornado EVDC500 is an energy-smart evaporative humidifier that efficiently produces 4 gallons of humidity per day to keep your room, dry climate or electric heat warm while increasing the humidity percentage. Compared to ultrasonic humidifiers, the Vornado EVDC500 is easy to clean and has no hard water dust. While this model doesn't come with a UV light to filter the water, it is made from ABS plastic and meets the PROP 65 criteria. This humidifier has a 24-volt motor, which is less electricity-consuming than the Evap40 model with a 120-volt motor. It has two 1-gallon tanks and can operate non-stop until the tanks need refilling. However, the tanks' small size could lead to more frequent refilling if it's used every day, which might be an inconvenience for some customers. Additionally, the unit needs to be leveled correctly to display accurate readings on the control panel, but this is an issue that's easily fixed with shims. One of the best features of this Vornado model is that it turns itself off automatically when the tank of water runs out. Furthermore, users can select an optimal humidity level and run time to make it consume less energy and reduce expenses while still working to keep them comfortable. However, some customers reported that the humidity settings weren't that accurate and had to be adjusted occasionally. Regarding cleaning, it should be done by hand washing only.
