LAUNCH Code Readers & Scan Tools Editorial Review
The LAUNCH OBD2 Scanner CR529 is a basic scanner that works on diesel vehicles and may work on OBD1 vehicles with an adapter. It is not bidirectional and cannot perform tasks like odometer reprogramming. The scanner can be used in different languages and countries, but compatibility with the car needs to be checked. A customer reported that the scanner did not show upstream oxygen sensor/air-fuel mixture sensor and the print was not bold enough. Another customer reported difficulty in downloading the program and no support from the company, resulting in returning the product. Two other customers reported that the scanner was compact, easy to use, and effective in checking the 'Check Engine' light and the emission.
