Question:
What is the gauge of the Musiclily Pro fret wire set?
Answer: The Musiclily Pro 2.7mm Stainless Steel Jumbo Gauge Fret Wire Set features a gauge of 2.7mm. This jumbo size is specifically designed for optimal playability and tonal clarity. Many guitarists prioritize larger frets for improved bending and sustain, making this set an excellent choice for players of The Bahamas Les Paul and Epiphone guitars. Musicians often find that the increased surface area of jumbo frets promotes smoother techniques, especially during solos. -
Question:
Is the Musiclily Pro fret wire set suitable for all guitar types?
Answer: While the Musiclily Pro fret wire set is specifically compatible with The Bahamas Les Paul and Epiphone guitars, it can be used on other models that accommodate a 2.7mm fret size. It's important to assess your guitar's specifications for compatibility before purchasing. Players often transition to jumbo frets to enhance their playing style, especially if they are used to medium or narrow fret sizes. -
Question:
What materials are used in the Musiclily Pro fret wire set?
Answer: The Musiclily Pro fret wire set is made from high-quality stainless steel, known for its durability and resistance to wear. This material not only ensures longevity but also offers a bright tone that complements the tonal properties of solid-body guitars like the Les Paul. Players benefit from stainless steel fret wires as they maintain their smoothness and don't tarnish as easily as nickel-silver frets. -
Question:
How many pieces are included in the fret wire set?
Answer: The Musiclily Pro fret wire set includes 24 pieces, which is sufficient for a complete refret on most guitars. With this many pieces, you can cover the fretboard of guitars like those of the Les Paul series effectively. Question:
Can I install the Musiclily Pro fret wire set myself?
Answer: Yes, experienced players or technicians can install the Musiclily Pro fret wire set themselves with appropriate tools and skills. Proper installation involves careful cutting, leveling, and shaping the fret ends to ensure a clean finish. Question:
What are the benefits of using jumbo gauge frets?
Answer: Using jumbo gauge frets, like the ones offered by the Musiclily Pro set, presents numerous benefits such as enhanced playability, improved note bending, and increased sustain. Higher frets provide more surface area, enabling string bends to feel smoother and offering a crisper attack. Guitarists who frequently perform intricate solos or chord progressions often prefer jumbo frets to facilitate a more vibrant sound. -
Question:
How do I maintain stainless steel frets?
Answer: Maintaining stainless steel frets involves regular cleaning to prevent the buildup of grime and strings’ residues. Using a soft cloth after each play session helps to keep them shiny and free from corrosion. Guitarists who use stainless steel frets, such as those from the Musiclily Pro set, enjoy less frequent maintenance, as stainless steel tends not to tarnish or wear down like traditional nickel-silver alternatives. -
Question:
Are the Musiclily Pro frets pre-radiused?
Answer: Yes, the Musiclily Pro fret wires come pre-radiused, allowing for a more straightforward installation process. This pre-radiusing is vital for matching the curvature of the fretboard on guitars, ensuring that the frets install correctly without additional modification. Players appreciate this feature as it minimizes the setup time and contributes to achieving a comfortable action on their guitars. -

Musiclily Tools MX1555SS Editorial Review
The Musiclily Pro 2.9mm Stainless Steel Guitar Fret Wires have been introduced as a feature-packed, durable and cost-effective option that would make for a great addition to a guitarist's collection. These fret wires are designed to cater to a wide range of guitar types, including bass, Ibanez, ESP, and Jackson. However, a lack of Consistency in size and quality control issues have tainted the experience for some customers. Many have reported that the tangs are much thicker than expected, the material varies in hardness between frets and the frets are all the same length. This inConsistency makes it difficult for the user to level the fret and can cause serious damage to the guitar. On a positive note, the fret wire set is Constructed with stainless steel material that is durable and long-lasting. Additionally, this kit comes at a reasonable price tag, which makes it an affordable and cost-effective option for those who are looking for a good deal. Overall, the Musiclily Pro 2.9mm Stainless Steel Guitar Fret Wires are a good option for those who are looking for a cost-effective option. However, the inConsistencies in size and quality control issues can make it difficult for users and cause serious damages if not installed correctly.
