Kool Stop V Bicycle Brake Pad Inserts (Salmon)

The Kool-Stop V Bicycle Brake Pad Inserts (Dual Compound) have garnered a largely positive reception from customers, making them a favored choice for many cyclists looking to enhance their braking performance. Users Consistently highlight the impressive stopping power these pads offer, significantly improving their riding experience compared to stock brake pads, particularly Shimano's XTR options. One of the most common praises is the reduction of screeching noise that often accompanies less effective pads; customers report that these inserts operate almost silently, allowing for a smoother ride. Installation is frequently noted as straightforward, with users appreciating the inclusion of necessary components like springs and retainer pins in the package. Durability seems to be another strong point, as many riders mention that the pads have held up well after extended use. However, there are some downsides to note. A few users experienced issues with fitment, particularly when trying to install the pads on older Avid or Shimano systems, expressing frustration over a loose fit unless complemented with Kool Stop pad holders. Additionally, some riders commented on the feel of the brake levers, describing a "mushy" sensation that detracted from the overall performance they expected compared to the firmer Shimano XTR pads. In summary, the Kool-Stop V Bicycle Brake Pad Inserts are recognized for their excellent braking performance, ease of installation, and quiet operation, but potential buyers should be aware of compatibility issues with certain brake systems and varying lever feel. **
