The device can be used in a vertical position as long as the water flow direction is Consistent with the arrow direction on the flow meter. The 1 inch flow meter has NPT threads and is suitable for use with drinking water so long as it is cleaned with clean water before first use. However, this device cannot be used for hydraulic fluids or liquids with a temperature above 158℉.
